The influence of religiosity to marriage satisfaction among parents of children with Down syndrome

This study aimed to examine the contribution of religiostiy toward marital satisfaction of parents whose child has Down syndrome in Jakarta and Tangerang. The sample of this research consisted of 54 individuals. The Four Basic Dimensions of Religiousness Scale was used to measure the religiosity, while Relationship Assessment Scale (RAS) was used to measure the marital satisfaction. Findings indicated that religiosity is not significantly associated with marital satisfaction. However, the result indicated a significant contribution of Believing dimension of religiosity toward marital satisfaction (10.7%) of parents who had a child with Down syndrome.
