The effectiveness of cooperative learning to improve social skills of kindergarten students

Abstract

The present study was conducted to determine whether cooperativelearning can improve students’ social skills in kindergarten effectively. Cooperativelearning includes two techniques, think-pair-share and jigsaw, which were conducted within 10 days. Subjects in the present study amounts to 10 students obtained based on the lower scale by parents and teachers. Results showed that there were differences in social skills of the subjects pre- and post-study. The present study showed that cooperative learning techniques think-pair-share and jigsaw can improve social skills of kindergarten students in the aspects of cooperation, assertiveness, and self-control.
